Products: SUPERflex™, EasyFix™ AluPlate™
The client had previously renovated a customer's property in the UK, and had the opportunity to develop a holiday home in France. The gîte in Naillat would include a heat pump as a heat source and underfloor heating throughout. There was to be a new solid floor on the ground floor, with joist construction planned for the two upper floors. The project was a combination of existing and new build areas, so required a number of different install solutions.
Having worked with Continental Underfloor before, the heating engineer contacted us again to come up with a plan. The Technical Sales Adviser (TSA) worked with the heating engineer to work out how best to incorporate the underfloor pipework within the development, and also looked at how to manage these different floor constructions.
On the ground floor, the engineer was to use the same install method he'd used before - AluPlas® pipe buried in screed.
The first and second floors needed to use AluPlates™, so the TSA advised using the latest SUPERflex™ pipe. SUPERflex™ allowed the installer increased flexibility when working between the joists on the upper floors. One area, which had limited access from above, required the fit-from-below AluPlate™ solution.
It was crucial that the right amount of product was supplied for the different construction types as the system was to be delivered to France. It would be a logistical nightmare to get product to site quickly if the initial calculations were wrong or the products were out of stock...
This is one of the benefits of using an experienced company like Continental Underfloor. Products are despatched from our purpose-built UK distribution centre, eliminating costly delays and missing components. Our customers deal with the same dedicated team member from start to finish, meaning that no important points are "lost in translation".
The system arrived on site in Naillat on time, with everything required to complete a professional installation.
The manifolds were positioned within the stud walls so they were completely unobtrusive; and as this is a low maintenance system, this caused no issues.
