The solution
As the build was timber framed, the floor deck needed to be in place for structural purposes. This meant that there was only a void underneath for the underfloor heating installation.
Our Technical Sales Adviser suggested using our innovative fit-from-below system. The installers use a thin aluminium plate with a 'J' end profile to securely attach the pipe, with no fixings. The plate is simply screwed in single runs to the underside of the decking, giving a clean and efficient install.
The customer knew the benefits of using underfloor heating as a primary heat source; so when he knew that we had an effective solution, his decision became easy. Along with the fit-from-below system, we supplied our 16mm SUPERflex™ pipe to make the install as easy as possible. This is a great alternative to our AluPlas® pipe if you're fitting UFH systems between joists, due to its increased flexibility.
Installing underfloor heating when the first floor’s already in place needn’t be a problem. The fit-from-below system gives you a straightforward install, and a fantastic result.
The result
The new build received an energy-efficient underfloor heating system to both floors, providing greater interior design freedom. The customer was impressed at how proactive Continal was in designing a solution, and plans to use us again.
