A solid / screed underfloor heating system is one of the easiest to install options for any project. Solid floor constructions are most commonly used for ground floors, although it is increasingly popular to use beam and block as an intermediate floor.

Our most common method of fitting underfloor heating. Used for new builds and renovations with a new screed floor.

Screed over insulation

Screed over insulation is the most common method of fitting UFH. It can be used for new builds, and renovations where a new screed floor is being laid.

Beam and block

Beam and block floors are perfect for the installation of underfloor heating, and are an alternative to wooden joists on intermediate or suspended floors.

  • Saves time on site compared with cast slabs
  • Ideal for maximising heat outputs

SlimFix® thin underfloor heating board

SlimFix® over solid

SlimFix® is a thin (25mm), single panel designed to make fitting underfloor heating easier and faster over an existing slab.

Features:

  • Quick, easy, dry installation
  • Foil faced bonded insulation, provides even heat distribution
  • Standard 200mm pipe spacing for normal heat sources, or 150mm for low temperature sources
  • One single panel which includes pipe runs and returns. No juggling two panels.
  • Can be used on concrete slabs with a minimal increase in floor height
  • Meets the requirements of robust detail
  • Suitable for most applications where the heat loss does not exceed 75W/m²

Screed underfloor heating systems

Screed/solid floor underfloor heating is an efficient way of installing UFH. Even if you are using a heat source with a low flow temperature, like a renewable heat source, the underfloor heating will still give a high heat output. There is a wide range of options for you to choose from so that you can choose the best solid floor construction for your project.
